IAIDO

Because we work with swords (katana - both wooden and dull) in Iaido, we offer Japanese swordsmanship classes for youth ages 13 and up and adults. We encourage parents of youth to attend as well!

Iaido (Japanese swordsmanship) is a series of movements against one or many imaginary opponents using a katana. The iaidoka draws the sword, makes the cuts, shakes off the blood, and re-sheathes the sword. Breathing, posture, and timing are important in striving to perfect the movements. In all, we practice 60 different patterns!
